Sterling silver ring – Unusual

This is my latest ring.
I wanted to create smaller and simplest ring than I usually do.
Just band and purple Swaroysky crystal…
But I have changed my mind during the production…. I heated a peace of silver wire trying to make round ball.
When I was done I find out that on the other side of the ball there was a small hole perfect for my purple Swarowski crystal.
This is really one of kind ring.

How to add patina to silver, cooper or brass

Aside

This silver earrings I have made last week, but this “old look” I have added this morning. I found out that patina gel is very practical and I will continue to use it.
How to use it:

1. get patina gel liver of sulfur, and baking soda.

2. mix Patina gel with water. ( put 4-8 drops in plastic container, and then pour 1-2 cups of worm water – read the instructions!)

3. using tweesers dip metal into the Patina Gel solution for a few seconds.
When you are happy with result remove. ( the temperature of the water and strenth of the solution will determine how fast the item oxidizes).

4. place the item in the neutralizing bath for a few minutes. (2 tablespoons baking soda to 2 cups of water)

5. finishing – with light abrasive (baking soda) remove dark spots.

Result could be from rainbow colors to black oxidized patina.

If you are not happy with the result of your patina, the oxidation can be removed and the process repeated.
Work with gloves and in a well ventilated area.

Silver ring – Summer sky

My latest project:
This massive ring is my favorite ring at the moment.

When strating a new project or have an idea it is basically to make a draft. Otherwise thought could vanish forever.
I made this draft a few months ago…

Less is more…

I just have finished my new ring – Asymmetry.
Ring base is made of hammered cooper and top of the ring is simple hammered silver circle.
What I like the most about this project is asymmetry – top is asymmetric related to the ring base.
Rustic antique patina looks great on hammered silver or cooper …do you think so?

Crochet, organza flowers and polymer clay…

I was a little beat tired of my metal work so I decided to make something completely different last week.
I had a few crochet flowers and wanted to use them. I also made this cute pendants of polymer clay.( Polymer clay is great material, and I allways have some.)
To fulfill my creations I added organza flowes, pearl, shell, and lava beads.
This is the result!
